Steps from Application to State License

Application Process

Because it takes several weeks to process the application and you may apply before, during or after the course we recommend you apply early so you can strategically line up your exam date shortly after the course is over.

The primary way to apply is on-line.  Applying on line will save 7 -10 days of processing time compared with a paper application.  A credit card is necessary.  Most of you will apply for "sales associate".  Do not pick mutual recognition.  If you do the on-line precisely and correctly you'll be asked to print out an "attest page" for your signature.  When asked to attest completion of the education, write the phrase "in process" next to that item.

If you are not asked to print the attest page you were not successful.  In that case print out a full paper application (http.//www.myflorida.com/dbpr/re/forms.html) and send it in with a cover letter stating that you are sending in this paper application as a "back up" to a failed on-line application.  Include all the identifying numbers to cross reference and if they took your credit card information don't add any money.

Part of your application will include mandatory electronic fingerprinting.  A fingerprint card will no longer be used.  The State application will explain how and where to complete it.

Go to www.MyFloridalicense.com, e-government services, and then click option "Apply for License" or just simply "click here" and follow the prompts.

If you need a paper application it can be printed from http.//www.myflorida.com/dbpr/re/forms.html      You can also call (850) 487-1395 for a paper application.

Tracking

After 2 weeks, check the internet for progress on your application by going to https://www.myfloridalicense.com/viewappl.asp?SID=

Click view application status, enter information then enter search option.  If unsuccessful call DBPR Call Center at (850) 487-1395 for your applicant status.

State Exam Arrangement

If you have been approved, call the Pearson Vue test center in Fort Myers and line up the exam 3 days after our regular course or 3 days after the optional review course (see the "Class Schedule" page on our website for dates) while your knowledge is fresh.  Please visit Pearson Vue’s web site at http://www.asisvcs.com/indhome.asp?cpcat=0910realappr  for exam details.  It’s best to call and speak to one of their customer service representatives for available date/times and locations.  Their telephone number is 1-800-204-6289.   Upon approval by the State, you can arrange for your exam before, during or after you've taken the course and finished it.
